131342 2003-03-28 14:24:00 This thread is actually aimed at the guy I previously talked about. I hate him. Absolutely, no questions. And he says bad things about Windows all the time. So I vented my happiness here. Too bad he doesn't read this, though I'm probably actually lucky he doesn't... agent (30)
131343 2003-03-28 19:20:00 With the apple appearing in the late '80's with a GUI, it took several years for M$ to come out with a similar OS - win95 (win3.11 did make an appearance earlier, but...).
If it wasn't for the power of advertising which Bill has, he would not be so well known. More so the apple brothers would be the monopolising force instead had they been more interested in selling the product which they spent so much time and energy developing. I am not going to quote any sources (I don't even know for sure) but Bill took a good look at the Apple before the PC was created. That is a simple business logic. Research the competition, and undercut them.
The PC has its own achievements, which differ from the MAC. If you want to play with movies and pics, then pick a MAC. For business situations where you would likely network a few machines, then take a few PC's.

I heartily dissagree with this comment made on the supplied link at the start
"processing. But for resource intensive tasks--video editing, graphics work, and the like--PCs running Windows have long dominated the Mac."
I would like to know where they got this information, as it should read the other way around.
The MAC has prided itself on either equalling or beating benchmarks with PC's. These scores were constantly achieved with a processor with half the Hz. Because of the bandwidth which is utilised on MAC's, a 500MHz acted similarly to an Intel 1GHz.

I will say now that I am using a PC with winXP loaded, and have played with Linux RH7.2. I have only stood next to a MAC, no other contact has been made by either party.

Um .Clueless, may I borrow that suit of yours... Its about to get warmer in here LOL.:D

Calm down Graham, it is not an OS war this time . It is a PC vs Mac war . :D

There are only a couple more years of hormonal instablility remaining so make the most of the entertainment while it lasts . ;-) :D

Maybe he is just trying to wind you up? It is great fun when your victim bites so easily, you know . :-)

John: your link does not work. :-(

131348 2003-03-28 23:32:00 Does anybody else ahve that game BBC Play With The Teletubbies?

My 2 yr old brother idolizes it!

He's even learnt to click his user (in XP), put the CD in, and just clicks everywhere to try and get the program to load.. ;-)

It is kind of disturbing.

Feeding google web/image search "teletubbiesXP" turned up a few different versions which you may be able to use.
