2003-03-27 07:06:00 | PCs are better than Macs (www.pcauthority.com.au). Don't just know it, show it! Adobe has shown that PCs perform better than Macs. Of course, Apple is fighting back these claims, but lets face it... their "Switch" campaign was a failure, Power PC sucks, and they might be moving to Intel architecture. :D:D:D:D:D

Agent, Apple does somethings better than Windows and visaversa. I don't think you can say one is completely superior to the other. And I think Telly Tubby Land was supposed to be a joke. Not an insult |

2003-03-27 09:53:00 | I'm a dedicated MS guy... (apart from Linux, that's ok). All competition sucks, IMHO (apart from Linux). That may sound weird, me supporting Microsoft and Linux, but it's just the way the world goes round. To be frank, I don't actually know the real, deep reason why I don't like Macs. But it's not because people claim Windows ripped many things off Mac.

2003-03-27 10:01:00 | And the few Mac computers I've tried were the really old versions. Drop-dead ugly. And I won't be trying OS X. The stability of XP suits me fine. And I like the layout of Windows. I wouldn't like the dock-tray thing from OS X. It's too screen-hungry, and isn't tucked away neatly by default (though I'm sure you can drag it around - right?). Another reason? I know a Mac user who criticises everything about Windows. Right from the "boring beige, square case" to the "rip-off XP logon screen". I like beige. And if you don't like it, get a black one. Try some case modding. That'd make it look far better. And while it is true that the new iMac looks rather a lot like a lamp... I don't care about a moveable screen, don't need one, and I'm more concerned with upgradibility (seeing as you can't really add much into that small, constricting semi-sphere). And the "megahertz-myth"... I don't know the Apple side to it, so I'll stick with mine... a 3GHz Intel has a clockspeed faster than a 1.4GHz Power PC. I don't worry about pipeline stages and all that. This Mac user also says Intel has copied Apple by bringing it's number of pipeline stages down - so what? The whole industry copies each other in ways just like that.

2003-03-27 22:57:00 | IMHO only press F1ers with experience of both PCs and Macs are really qualified to make an educated comparison between the two.....but who cares? My own experience? I own an iMac, Ive never had to exterminate a virus, Ive never had to post a question here involving a computer problem, and Ive been earning my living with it for the past three years.
