2003-03-28 02:28:00 | wll telecom send me an e-mail or ring me when my line is enabled for jetstart? what happened with you guys.... | floyds (3095) | |
2003-03-28 02:48:00 | No. They will ring you if there is a problem at the exchange etc, but that is all. I found my Jetstream Starter connection was "live" when I plugged in my ADSL modem. If your connection scheduled date/time has passed and you still don't think you have ADSL enabled, trying giving Telecom a ring. Jen (Been connected to Jetstream Starter for 3 hours now and loving it!! :D)

2003-03-28 02:56:00 | A Telecom technician rang to tell me when our line was enabled, but that was maybe because I'd been on the list when the local exchange became enabled. and I was probably one of the very first to go ADSL on that exchange. | Terry Porritt (14) | |
2003-03-28 03:01:00 | Likewise Terry. I had my ADSL modem connected for a couple of days prior anyway, and all I needed to do was look at the link status. When it showed that the link was present. I knew it was enabled. I would have thought that was the easiest method of determining when ADSL was enabled?

2003-03-28 03:05:00 | wheres the link status, on my modem ive got a green light on power and Lan at the moment? | floyds (3095) | |
2003-03-28 03:07:00 | You should have an DSL LED light - is this lit up? | Jen C (20) | |
2003-03-28 03:14:00 | They didn't ring me, the modem link light just flashed constantly . It turned out that they connected it one day, then switched it on the following . The modem still continued to flash though, and to ascertain whether the link was suspect (we can't guarantee performance etc) or the modem was at fault I needed to know whether the link was live . . . which was near impossible to find out through Telecom . Anyway - the Dynalink modem was faulty, replaced it and it worked . Would have been nice to have heard from Telecom that the line was working ok so the fault finding and frustration would have been lessened . Have been enjoying the connection ever since though! J . :D

2003-03-28 03:21:00 | no the dsl light is blank, do i dial in like a normal 56k modem? | floyds (3095) | |
2003-03-28 03:32:00 | No, dialling is not required for DSL. The link to the exchange is permanently up unless you turn off your modem (or Telecom doesn't connect you). Cheers Billy 8-{)

"john . smith . xadsl@xtra . co . nz" Password: This should be the same password that you use for your normal account . This can be changed online at My Account if you would prefer to use a different password . |
