131508 2003-03-27 23:34:00 Don't know if I have 1, 2 or 3 problems.
I've been trying to update my AVG virus definitions for some weeks now, but after each download AVG tells me that "update was already downloaded. You need to restart to finish it." Using the restart in Windows (XP Pro.) causes my mouse - a MS Explorer 3.0 - to cease functioning. So I shut down and restart manually - the mouse then works but AVG is not installed.
Has anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance to you lovely people out there who have solved may of my past problems by me just following the threads of someone else's posts.

131509 2003-03-28 00:06:00 You could try a new antivirus like Norton AV (homepage.ntlworld.com) BootyLicious (526)

I do not think that file will not be there for too long….. ;).

If you want a trial version of Norton AV Visit they website at: www.symantec.com here is the direct link to where you can download a trial copy (30 days I think) http: or you will have to purchase a full version from a pc store e.g. Dick Smiths.

& there are other AV programs out there as well.

Assuming you have AVG 6.0 free edition:

Shut down AVG.
Remove all files from the Program Files\avg6\Updates folder.
Download this (www.grisoft.com) file to the same folder.
Open AVG - it should find the new update and load it automatically.
