2003-03-29 10:48:00 | Hi Maryann If its a program that has been "installed" on one PC, you cannot just "transfer" it across. Yoi need to "install" in on the other computer. When a program is "installed" it puts entries in the Registries, loads special files in various "system" folders.

2003-03-29 10:57:00 | Hi Goddie, PJ here. What we are trying to do is "Swap" info from one computer to the other. The "program" is something I Downloaded some time ago & now cannot find again. Is it not possible to transfer stuff from the XP to the 98 at all? PJ | Maryann (2010) | |
2003-03-29 11:10:00 | You can transfer any data created by a program, but when you install a program, it writes system files to several places. What "stuff" are you referring to, what is the program?

2003-03-29 11:16:00 | Back again. The program is"MahJong 2000 Luxury Edition" which was downloaded from Free internet. We have tried again but it will not download again. As to "Stuff", anything really, that is on XP & would like to transfer/copy to the 98. PJ | Maryann (2010) | |
2003-03-29 11:22:00 | You can only try. Some smaller programs do not get their hooks in, the worst that can happen is it will not run, or it will crash. But really, why not download it from here? (www.nr1webresource.com)
