131911 2003-03-29 07:13:00 Ok...a little explanation.

One of my friends has kids that have been downloading some stuff through Kazaa that he doesn't think is appropriate. He wants to have two logins. One for him, one for his kids. In his kids login, he wants to restrict the programs that can be used. I know you can do this in W2K. But can you/how do you, do this in win 98?

Does he need third person software?]

Thanks.

131912 2003-03-29 07:33:00 Hmm... I helped write some software a while back that would scan the Blue Bar at the top of every window and kill the program if it met the right criteria.. I'll have a look and see if Ive still got it coz it's just what you may be after.

Otherwise, I asked the quistion a while abck bout forcing a user login in Win98 and dis-allowing the Esc to cancel login... Have a wee search thru the PF1 Archives to see if you can find it.

131913 2003-03-29 08:54:00 since its for windows 9x and not xp ( as the os already has what you're looking for ) and you really don't want to play arround with policy edit ( poledit.exe ) which can be used to set up user profiles in windows 9x... try the link below

Thanks...also sounds good. If you could find it, that would be appreciated.

Yea...it's here : pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

...but It requires registry editing...I'm not really confident with that...so I'll try to find another way of doing it...

...but with the combination of your and minos#2's ideas, I should be able to do it!...see...two heads are better than one!
