| 131825 | 2003-03-28 23:23:00 | Hi folks. Recently I received an e-mail with a cute picture of a boy and girl and the instructions were to send it on to people that we wanted to have a good day. So the wife spent quite a bit of time forwarding this onto her friends and one replied saying that she got the wording okay but no pictures. Whoops what happened. So I went to the original e-mail and forwarded it to myself and sure enough no picture. Where the picture should have been was an outline and in the top left corner was a small square with a red cross. What has caused this please? OS 98SE Cheers and thanks, Smithie |

What about if you save the picture to anywhere (e.g. desktop), then reattach it to the email before you send it off. |

| 131827 | 2003-03-29 00:50:00 | Hi E.ric The e-mail we received has the picture. Looking in the sent folder, those emails that the wife forwarded on do not have the picture just the outline of where the picture was and as I say there is a very small square with a red cross in the top left, within the outline of where the picture should be. The picture is not an attachment but is in the body of the e-mail. So the e-mails sent has the wording at the top and bottom of the message, but there is no picture in between Smithie |

I found that forwarding never worked how I thought it should, and so just reply now and it works fine. It will put in a series of > > > > ( 1 for each reply / forward ). You can take a few seconds to remove these > > > or there is a special tool out there somewhere - I don't have it. > > is a very small square with a red cross in the top left, within the outline of > > > where the picture should be. > > The picture is not an attachment but is in the body of the e-mail. So the > > > e-mails sent has the I think the picture isn't loading because the pathname is incorrect - the result of asking for a picture, but it not being there. In the original email there will be an attachements section. In this section will be the name of the picture ( a .jpg or similar ). If you right click on this name, you can save it somewhere on your computer. Now that it resides on your machine, you can just create a new message with it ( if you don't mind going through the long way ) and it will be clean and free of annoying > > > > > > for the recipient. Just a thought. Radz:p |
