Any chance I could grab a copy of Lindows from you (or anyone else who might have it)???

Cheers

131987 2003-03-30 03:15:00 I don't think so. It costs money to buy LindowsOS and so I don't think I am allowed to copy it and give it to someone else. Most of the operating system is under the GPL but not all of it (Click-N-Run, Netscape, the installer, etc.). flyer590 (2523)
131988 2003-03-30 03:55:00 I'm taking a reverse pride attitude here with my 1.6Gb 5yr old IBM.

AND its got over 500megs free. Lean and mean is the motto.

40 gig x2 (raid)
20 gig
20 gig external usb2
10 gig
6.5 gig
4 gig x2
3.2 gig
2 gig x5
1.2 gig
500mb x2
300 mb 1
250 mb x5
127mb x4
80 mb x1

Roughly 221 gigs spread amongst 8 computers and various draws and shelves.
I remember when I had an dx 100 and was disappointed i couldn't afford a 1.2 gig and had to settle for an 810 mb but was consoled by the salesman " it will take a while to fill that up"

guess I've overcompensated

Interesting - I read somewhere that although they're allowed to charge for it, they can't stop people from legally copying and distributing it.

I think that because it has been purchased you now have the right to change and manipulate and distribute the OS in any way you deem fit. At least this is how every other distribution works.

They all started from the one copy made by the Allmighty One - exported code derived from UNIX and played with till they could play no more. We salute you oh great one, Linus Torvalds
