| 132247 | 2003-03-30 13:23:00 | Hey guys, Just looking at a few products which will back up the Windows partition of my hard drive. Currently running Windows 2KPro. Which product should I look at? I think that NTI is able to create a bootable disc which will restore an image to a partition, but what about Norton Ghost? Took a quick squizz at Retrospect too, but I need something which will obviously back up 'live' files too... Suggestions, recommendations welcome... Lo. |

I know of one person who lost all their data due to copying an image to the wrong partition. As for DriveBackup, I have had no experience. DriveImage is another one recommended by others, and again I have had no experience with, though I will as soon as I get a copy. | Pheonix (280) | ||

| 132250 | 2003-03-30 22:16:00 | Drive Image? Does that actually back up all the system files, etc? Does that make an exact image of the hard drive so that if the computer died, I would be able to replicate what was on the hard drive exactly down to OS, system files, etc? Sorry, am a bit of a noob when it comes to backing up a whole system... One last question, does it support Windows 2000 Server? Seems that Systemworks 2003 (incl Ghost) can't be installed on server edition?? Cheers, Lo. |
