132363 2003-03-31 05:55:00 I have recently seperately purchased an external (USB) CDRW (Brand new) and a Compaq Armada E500 laptop running Windows 2000 (SP3).

The CdRW came with Nero Burning ROM ver 5.5.9.16.

I am having difficulty installing this software, the installation wizard doesn't even get to the EULA screen before it comes up with "The Wizard has been interrupted... not installed...)etc

I downloaded a later (demo) version (5.5.10.15) which installed OK but expired today 31/3/03.

I cannot find any process or software running that may have interrupted the installation, virus checkers and firewalls have been disabled, there is nothing in the event logs.

Can anyone advise what might be the problem and possible solutions?

Bob

132364 2003-03-31 06:49:00 You could try copying the installation package to the hard disk and installing from there. Graham L (2)
132365 2003-03-31 06:50:00 The disk clean as? no scratches or fingerprints? Pheonix (280)

132368 2003-03-31 11:07:00 Oheonix, the cd is brand spankers, installed perfectly OK on the HP Vectra PC running XP, just won't go on the Compaq Laptop under 2k PahiatuaBob (3496)
132369 2003-03-31 11:08:00 mmmmm difficult one eh? I'll have to think on it. Pheonix (280)
132370 2003-03-31 11:30:00 not sure with the oem versions but copy it to the hardrive. open it up with winzip/winrar/ace etc. there is a test option to check if files are ok. make sure old nero is cleaned out of pc before trying to install. turn off antivirus. run the setup from the unpacked copy of nero. the only other thing i can think of is that its having trouble instaling the drivers. make sure aspi drivers are installed ok and you are in admin mode. tweak'e (174)
132371 2003-03-31 11:35:00 Thanks, will give that a crack PahiatuaBob (3496)
132372 2003-04-01 03:23:00 well, the huge file that I figured held all the files in (neroxxxx.msi) was not a valid archive file, and unable to be opened by WinZip, the other executables that winzip could open were script files and installers.

So basically, that didn't work....
I've tried emailing Ahead Support for advise/assistance.... still waiting...

anybody else got any ideas?
