132457 2003-03-31 12:57:00 >_< God dam it! I go to open the file in "VirtualDub" and it comes up with "Can't locate decompressor from 'jpeg' (unkownen)

Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatable codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are no suitable."

What is going on?!?! :(

132458 2003-04-11 05:41:00 sorry for the late response, i just dug up this thread because i had another person ask about mov to avi conversion.

It sounds to me like you converted to a compressed format that vdub doesnt accept. This is why we go through the whole editing of the bat file to make sure that mov2avi is outputting *uncompressed* avi files.

my suggestion would be to go back and start again, making sure you get the right value from the mov2avi -?c command for "none", and making sure you edit the bat file appropriately. Just read through my instructions a few times carefully and make sure you understand what I'm telling you to do.

I have re-encoded hundreds of mov files this way and vdub has NEVER had a problem with uncompressed avi files.
