| 132488 | 2003-03-31 23:28:00 | I have a friend with a PC running WinME, and it just wont shut down or reboot? I can hit the Standby button fine on the keyboard and that's all peachy, but it wont shut down or reboot. I try hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del to check what might be stopping it, but neither the WinKey nor that combination work. None of the standard doze hotkeys work. Ive run a scan with Ad-Aware, and AVG is up to date, so what else could be affecting it? Im off to MS.com, but has anybody had this before? Apparently she's got it with an XP machine too? | 132490 | 2003-04-01 00:07:00 | Well, I used System Restore for Windows XP to take it back to friday when I knew it was all peachy and that was fine... And on the ME PC, I used msconfig to remove everything... All software on both is pretty much same... I re-added the Win.ini and system.ini stuff, and it appears to be working. Thanks :-) |
