132424 2003-03-31 10:09:00 Hi Thomas

It is not a good idea to post . exe files on PF1 without providing a clear advice as to what the file is all about, along with a clear warning that clicking will activate a program .

Otherwise curious newbies might end up with more than they bargained for .

132425 2003-03-31 10:18:00 I used BigFix after it was recommended in NZ PCWorld .

Basically it sat there for weeks on end doing nothing, because I have Windows and Office Updates and Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate set to work automatically . I also check for updates each time I use AdAware, and one of my other regular programs, SmartSync Pro updates automatically as well .

By the time BigFix got around to it, everything was already updated! So when I did a complete reinstall recently I didn't bother with it . Haven't missed it .

132427 2003-03-31 12:20:00 Hi ya

Used it a year or 2 back. Worked ok for me with the proliferation of programs installed at the time. As above, after a re-installation and cleanup, it was one of the cleanees. Most mainstream (win) software comes with updaters now. Wasn't bad at sniffing out drivers though.
