| 132382 | 2003-03-31 06:35:00 | When I go to backup data in Quicken to my CDRW it states that it cannot read the CDRW. in the Quicken help it says " Before you can back up to CD-R or CD-RW, you must configure your CD-ROM drive to work like an alternate hard disk drive. When you're done, you should be able to copy files from your hard disk drive to a CD-R or CD-RW" How do I go about doing this, and will it have any further repercussions to other programs eg my CD Burner program (Nero Burning Rom) etc. |

I would rather use drys suggestion though, as write it to a folder on the HDD first. I use MYOB, and create the backup files in a separate directory, these are copied daily across to a second HDD, and weekly the directory is copied to a CD-R, which is then kept in a fireproof safe. When they are copied to a CD-R, verification is done to confirm the copy has integrity. As with all back-ups, do not consider they as OK until you have actually restored one to ensure they are valid and readable. |
