132845 2003-04-02 06:50:00 I know for the scrollbar options, you can either have yes or no.

I am wanting only vertical scrollbars, and i dont want any horisontal ones.

Is there an html thing for that?

132846 2003-04-02 07:59:00 i really don't think that is passable sc0ut (2899)
132847 2003-04-02 08:19:00 I think it all depends on if what is on the page goes over the sides or not. Unless there is some javascript to take care of it. -=JM=- (16)
132848 2003-04-02 08:39:00 are you talking about the entire document, or something else, like a textarea, iframe or something?

if your talking about the entire webpage, and trying to get a page you make not have any horizontal scrolling, then its basically down to the pages layout,

a 'wee' bit more info,

132849 2003-04-02 08:48:00 I'm not sure what the other people are saying but it's possible in HTML, and in other languages too.

Do you have a site up already that I can look at and try and figure out what you are trying to do.

Do you use frames?

You can create it inside a Table that can be made to adjust to the width of their screen. I wouldn't worry about making the site suitable for 600x480 but definitely make it for 800x600 and higher resolutions. That way it'll make sure that everything is fit inside that width and not longer, if a picture it wider than the set width then shrink it down.

Still this may not be the case I would really need to see the site or the HTML code for it.

132850 2003-04-02 10:07:00 go through www.w3schools.com and make sure to validate your code with validator.w3.org

To answer your question, as far as text is concerned it will word wrap, if you are talking more about tables, images etc stay away from pixel sizes and go for percentage sizes instead, so for example instead of say
<table width="1024">
use
<table width="100%">

132851 2003-04-03 01:40:00 One way of achieving this is to put a table in the centre of the page, and have all content inside the table. Make the table size a percentage of the browser's window, and it will shrink the table to fit. Example:

<div align="center">
<table width="75%" border="0">
<tr>
<td></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>

Or use your wysiwyg editor to do it for you.

The navigation bit, when your screen is not full size, it shows scrollbars. I need a vertical scrollbar for the play list on the jukebox, but i dont want the horizontal one.

Thanks
