Recently I bought and installed an upgrade of my McAfee Virus Home Edition to v.702.6800, Engine 4.2.50 which was working fine. Then suddenly I found I could not access it - from Programs, short cut, Firewall or anywhere. A small screen would come up "Instant Updater" on my desk top and when I clicked it would bring up the Updating page and would seem to go through the motions of updating but in the summary say that the latest DAT update had not been applied. I have HP Pavilion Windows 98SE. I tried downloading the DAT from McAfee on the web but got the message "File download of sdat-exe was not completed successfully. Server has internal error". Can anyone help? I have e-mailed McAfee technical help in both Australia and NZ but have received no reply.
