| 133076 | 2003-04-03 04:51:00 | Bit of a problem with Mandrake 9 hanging when trying to perform the partition check during installation ..... Just sits there @ hda: I know the PC and drive are good as I have had Debian installed and its fine as a Wintel box ........... Drive is a Seagate 10 gig ..... Mobo Soyo with intel 810 chipset ........... There seems to be a lot of discussion on the net in regards to the problem ..... just no solution. Anyone found a solution or encountered this problem?? |

I have always used the Expert set-up wizard as know doubt you are being a Debian user. Basically I never had the system lock-up at this point, but have had it throw a wobbly with the partitioning. From memory I deleted the partition that was causing the problem, recreated it and used the advanced tab to format the partition prior to accepting the partition scheme. It would sometimes also have a problem if I set it to check the disk surface. These problems only seemed to occur when I was using a disk that had an old linux on it. HTH |
