I have a friend using a new machine with XP for five months. On attempting to download updates, the web page either blacks out, freezes, or on the odd occasion when he is informed that so many critical updates are available, the download is incredibly slow, and eventually terminates, altho' he is still connected to his ISP. Is this likely to be a fault in his software, or is the problem with the MS server? He seems to be able to access other web pages normally.
