133466 2003-04-04 22:33:00 I just need a little help...

Where do I specify the folders etc. for the downloads, I think Im missing a .conf file, or Im looking in the wrong place?

Or is there another FTPD that you guys would recommend.

Im not gonna want anonymous logins, all authenticated users...

Any suggestions?

Cheers

133467 2003-04-04 23:16:00 Hello Chilling_Silence,

Sorry for the silly question :8} but are you talking about ftp server software???

If you are I know of two or 3 good ones for windows & a copy for other OS ;)

133468 2003-04-04 23:48:00 Yup, Its Server software.

I want something that'll do this:
Let me specify a sperate login directory for each user.
Let me enables quotas, so each user cannot exceed a storage limit
Give that user a folder that only they have access to, and access to a public folder also (with a set amount of storage in this public folder per user-login).

I think that's about it for now.

Cheers

133469 2003-04-05 04:15:00 The normal setup has been to have a directory tree starting at /home/ftp/ . I suspect that installing the package would have built a tree. Do "man vsftpd" ... the man pages have a section (at the end) giving a list of associated files, directories etc. Graham L (2)

Couldnt see the home folder for the ftp user, but i'll go su - and double check it out :-)
