For me it's not just xtra invading my privacy whenever they see fit, but just another in a long line of issues relating to the "big brother scenario" We are being legislated out of existence. Probably won't do any good though, as the others will fall into line sooner or later. What a joke! Paying someone to snoop on you or knick you ideas any time they like. "Give us some cash & we'll issue you with a lifetime drivers license, Oops no we won't, give us some more cash, come in, we'll take your photo, check your eyes & give you a plastic ID card (& by crikey don't let the police catch you without your ID on you at all times) Got any guns, give us some cash & we'll let you keep it. Ride a push bike because you can't afford a car because of the ever increasing cost of warrants, rego, & insurance, or you can't take it out cause we'll fine you if it's smokey, doesn't matter we'll make you buy a helmet. Gotta skateboard, don't worry sonny we're coming your way as well. And don't forget, we'll soon be asking you for a mouth swab for our DNA database if we catch you not wearing your helmet or not having your ID card on you, & remember we know who you are cause we havent told you what that barcode on you ID card contains you have we? We won't raise taxes, but we have plans for raising GST (which isn't really a tax as if you don't spend you money you don't pay it, great scheme eh?) Don't forget to save for your old age either as we won't be looking after you & don't get sick either as we're too busy giving away the countries cash to dodgy Wall street brokers & financing just about every other third world country (especially those with big armies) with huge amounts of cash to feed their people. And make sure you're kids don't get sick or need grommets in their ears & get granny a good walker cause if she falls & breaks her hip we can't afford to fix it. Don't worry if you're on the West Coast & unemployed, the Overseas visitors we round there last week reckon the place looks that good since we stopped the logging, they're gonna buy the place. And don't you dare let us catch you smoking down the pub (oops I mean wine bar) And on & on & on....... And if you email or phone anyone to complain about it, our mates at xtra will let us know within the hour & we'll be round your place to cart away your new P4, & any other rights you think you still have. And I wouldn't bother ringing the Yanks, Brits or Ozzies for help 'cause we've really shown them whose boss & they won't be round here anymore. And don't go writing any letters to the editor either, we know your handwriting, remember those forms you filled out for your ID card? Think we're stupid don't you? So be a good wee boy, do as you're told & just stay home & wait for our next piece of soul destroying, money making legislation to hit you. But it's not all bad, we're going to give you another TV station (sorry about the other one) & you WILL watch it for an hour a day, we don't care if there are only 500 of you that will actually understand it. And we hope the wee implant we give your grandkids when they're born won't hurt too much, it's for their own good you know, we're just helping you all live your lives the way you should 'cause you obviously have no idea how to do it for yourself" |

| 133423 | 2003-04-07 22:19:00 | quote "helen knows better than we do what we want" wll something like that anyway . . . and I was thinking if she doesn't know what we want, then they ( the politicans ) have these wonderful things called "oversight commitees" = dont get into the real reasons why for example theres a power crisis, because well just use the commitee to work out whats the most profitable and make that law . and we have other wonderful parties like the christain heritage party to "keep government honest" a national party that can't even decide if they are going to have a leadership challenge or not, a green party thats probably turning blue for being in the political cold, a alliance party that doesn't have one . . . and now we have xtra being a multi-conglomerate ( ie in bed with MS ) that will probably next say through its own news website ( xtra new ) that palladium is going to be the next best thing since they went private!! :-) |

Greg...no offence taken :) thanks for pointing it out...but i am smart enough to know that :) Scout.....sorry dude...cant give you recorded calls. But yeah some really 'technically challenged' ppl call. One thing i know is not to ask what can they see on their window when goin thru the call. When i asked, this lady told me she could see a fence with birds on it!! :D And right clicking is quite hard to explain...especially when they argue that they are using their right hand! :) |
