133587 2003-04-05 23:36:00 Having a dumb day here, but trying to work out why you would have two ISP accounts?

Wouldn't it save all the hassells and just have the one?

Or am I missing something spectacularly obvious?

Baldy:)

I resolved a similiar problem I had receiving email from CLEAR while connected to XTRA in the following way.

Long before XTRA had a change of heart.

I went to CLEAR's homepage, I went to their < preferences > section, I selected < mail forwarding > and supplied all of the requested details to facilitate the forwarding of email to my XTRA address.

This circumvented the need to log into CLEAR separately from XTRA since the change in preferences at CLEAR meant that from then on all email would be forwarded to my XTRA account.

Thus, whenever I access my XTRA email account all email sent to my XTRA account and all email sent to my CLEAR account are downloaded in one go.

Thank the lord TelstraCLEAR continue to allow you to make this change online, without having to arrange it through a CSR.

HTH

133589 2003-04-06 01:44:00 ok

to clear this up for Baldy who has not read the post or any other of my posts ,

1.... isp is my original (xtra) for my personal and student / play around stuff.

2..... isp is bussiness(clear) that we have just taken over and are just taking on their email address for work stuff, we intend to change this to our xtra account at some stage or get a domain name. their current advertising changes in october. when we can put up or add to for new advertising.

ok?

133592 2003-04-07 09:57:00 I haven't read the thread or the messages posted here but I'll say that there is a problem with sending emails using other ISP's SMTP servers but I haven't heard of a problem with POP3 servers. POP3 servers require authentification and if they have cancelled there account they won't be getting no emails that's for sure.

But I've been able to use Outlook Express on any ISP I've come across without no problems, all I really needed to know was the smtp server of the ISP being used so I could send emails but the pop3 server is always the ISP that has given you the email address.
