| 133577 | 2003-04-05 09:23:00 | I understand Clear have the same policy as Xtra. That is, to login to Clear pop server you have to be connected to Clear To login to Xtra pop server you have to be connected to Xtra These are the only two ISP's who have this restriction on downloading mail that I am aware of. |

| 133581 | 2003-04-05 11:42:00 | ok everybody this is the error message that comes up after loging in does not work, any ideas? error There was a problem logging onto your mail server . Your Password was rejected . Account: 'pop . clear . net . nz', Server: 'pop . clear . net . nz', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Authentication failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 this comes in multiples!? this did not work tonite either . yes and i will borrow any hammers at moment! this problem has been happening to me since tuesday . :- luckily i can still check my emails on clear, with the odd hassel . i was not aware till someone said on PF1 that i could access my email accounts from any other isp, i just thought thats why i had to be online with clear . i will ring again tomorow, i have only talked to about 6 different people at clear this week, and the technician at that stage could not help me, so what does that say for me? or others with problems . :- all i want to do is check the mail from xtra, because this is my cheaper option . beetle |

| 133584 | 2003-04-05 21:52:00 | ok i rang both xtra and clear this morning and the news is not good..... xtra says a flat no cannot do this, you cannot check mail from another isp while connected to them.... not possible blah blah blah etc ... breech of somthing or other...... and clear.net says not possible unless you willing to pay$$$$$ you are not supposed to do this but it is possible when you have money$$$ and are willing to pay for the privilege ..hmmmm? but clear .net says that redirection is free but then you cannot access the mail acount through them as well (if it is their account) so thats as clear as mud. so how do you other people do this? and of no help to me....... i will just have to get motivated and set up a new email with extra for work i can see that ( or a domain name) hope that information helps others sorry :_| beetle |

Jester says: " I can get Clear, Xtra, Orcon and Freenet pop3 mail through Paradise . This is both through Mailwasher and Outlook Express . " Maybe it is time to change ISPs, Beetle . . . . ?? Alternatively, Godfather says: "You can however retreive them through Clear webmail . " This is an option for you when you are dialled in with Xtra but it will be a little inconvenient . You go to your Webmail account on Clear Net's webpage and check your mail on there . If there are any important emails that need dealing with immediately you can send them (ie redirect them) to your Xtra email account so that they will go into your Inbox . Otherwise the emails stay on Clear Net's server until you log on to Clear and retrieve them . That might be your best option at this stage . May as well get rid of that identity we created since it won't be needed now . :p :D |
