133776 2003-04-06 02:52:00 Hi Folks,
My ISP recommended that Client for MS Networks should be ticked.
Can someone please tell me what is the meaning of ticking this -
what are the gains or losses?
In what way is this relevant to a home user?
I have a dual booted windows XP/ windows 2000 computer setup and
another computer working through this pc -ie this pc is the gateway.

Do you mean networked??? :)

133778 2003-04-06 04:21:00 It just installs some general networking software. (It's not to do with some sort of Microsoft Network out "there").

If your connection to the ISP is working perfectly, I'd leave well alone. If your connection to the ISP is not working perfectly, I'd tick it. :D

133780 2003-04-07 07:09:00 Hi stu140103,
The pc I was refering to is the one on this two computer
home network that has the modem attached; and as such I think
of it as the gateway - what should it be called?
