133678 2003-04-06 00:58:00 I don't think you're meant to actually "read" the files as such. You do what it said in the column and it *should* speed up windows loading. -=JM=- (16)
133679 2003-04-06 05:10:00 The boot vis prog will show you what you've got

trace to see how long it takes to load then optimise then trace again to see what improvements have been made (3 re-boots and waiting involved)

133680 2003-04-06 07:38:00 can you delete the 4 files once the programme has done its simulation thing 4times??? or are those 4files needed still??? PoWa (203)
133681 2003-04-06 08:40:00 not too sure really, I only get 1 file that it shows when it's finished 'tracing' and is kept until overwritten next time, unless I actually save the results that is (which are safe to remove)

hope that helps

133682 2003-04-06 09:18:00 first of all you trace 3-4 times and then you click on optimise. Lots of waiting etc ( like the article says, go have a coffe etc ) and why delete them? its not like you need the space!! lol

133683 2003-04-06 10:06:00 Or you might get what happened to me, did exactly as explained and it destroyed my system, start up took MUCH longer and a lot of progs didn't even start what so ever, Epson print monitor and quite a few others etc, system restore was the only option to get all back to normal. 133684 2003-04-06 20:21:00 I heard the minimum services for boot-vis to work properly are these set to automatic

COM+ Event System
Event Log
Plug and Play
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Task Scheduler
Windows Management Instrumentation

other than that I don't know why you'd have a problem, unless you did something else before or during it doing it's thing...
