2013-03-24 21:08:00 | My comp has two monitors linked to a 680GTX. I want to add a third display to this, that being a 52" TV The sole purpose of his is to play my media library. I don't envision any situation where I will be watching this while I am using the other two monitors (as monitors) on the computer and this will actually be facing away from me if I am at my desk. I am going to control the set up with a wireless keyboard set. When you open a programme it defaults to one or another screen, since I will still be using my computer screens with the media software how can I be sure it will show on the TV when I am on the other side of the room from the computer and do not want to have to get up to use the computer monitors to move it across the screens to the TV (this defeats its purpose) As I am not using this in conjunction with the other two monitors some sort of signal splitter would do the trick (I think) as I don't think the 680 can handle three screens. If I used the splitter what do I buy? How is it connected, just to the main screen or both? I am sure the replies will bring up more questions

2013-03-24 21:14:00 | Well when I am not at my desk my two monitors are usually off. But I don't want to mess around plugging and unplugging every time I do this.

2013-03-24 22:23:00 | I have a client set up the same way - 2 monitors and a TV on the HDMI of a 680. Works a treat, but as you say, the media programme opens on the 1st or 2nd monitor and needs to be dragged to the 3rd (TV) for it to show on the tv. I don't know of any way around it other than making the TV the primary screen when you want to use it. | Iantech (16386) | |
2013-03-24 22:40:00 | Is it enough to turn off the other two monitors? Will that make the TV primary? Also how are they plugged in exactly to the 680? I assume both monitors in the DVI's and the TV in the HDMI?

2013-03-24 22:58:00 | That could work Gary But like you I have no idea if you can get something like that.

2013-03-24 23:11:00 | The NV 6xx series support 4 monitors, 3 in surround 3D and a 4th as a monitoring panel.....I see no reason why you cant use extended desktop and when you open the media player for the first time, move to the TV (3rd) screen then close, it should remember which screen it is on!.... If you get something like display fusion you can actually stipulate which monitor for which program and set it that on the other 2 are used for the rest of the time.

2013-03-24 23:13:00 | Sol But I also use the media software on the other two monitors so if I forget to move it back then its a pain in the ass. pcuser Too much hassle, I want this to be a bit more seamless than that.
