1308232 2012-10-22 22:46:00 How stupid can a judge be.
:(

1308233 2012-10-22 23:41:00 Like the Met Office, Parliament, or our security service, they should merely have been charged with false pretences. R2x1 (4628)
1308234 2012-10-23 00:08:00 Forecasts are predictions usually reliant on data provided. Forecasts can be wrong because there are so many variables involved. Jailing forecasters will not solve the problem. Bobh (5192)
1308235 2012-10-23 00:31:00 I think the ruling was: if you tie them up & throw them in a lake, they floated so are obviously are witch's or evil scientists
I thought we were in the 21st Century, I'm obviously wrong.

1308236 2012-10-23 00:50:00 It has taken a long time but once again the Italians show absolute stupidity. Last time was following Mussolini and so Hitler. mikebartnz (21)

It certainly does not please me! :angry

They should have been strung up, not fed and watered!

The parasites had been squandering taxpayers money for years on what turned out to be useless research when the crunch came.

But then accountability is not in the vocabulary of a lot of so called Scientists these days.

The Judge should be honoured for at least getting halfway there. :)

I think I predicted the reaction fairly accurately, give or take a bit

What do you mean an accurate prediction? :illogical Quite the opposite as I’m devastated by their paltry sentence .

But the bit that really rocks me is this: “The BBC reports case has alarmed many scientists, who feel science itself has been put on trial . More than 5000 signed an open letter to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano in support of the defendants .

Am I supposed to believe that Italy has 5000 Scientists for starters? Well, if they have, it seems the thought of accountability scares the hell out of all of them .

Which, while on the subject of Science, I heard some Earth Shattering news on the Radio this morning .

Yes, some Scientists  have found that men who do shift work, including nightshift, are more likely to develop Prostate Cancer! Well this isn’t a breakthrough because I did Shift work for a good number of years and used to wonder why so many were running around with their thumb up their bum . They must have been checking for Prostate Cancer I guess, so there is nothing new there . :D

1308240 2012-10-23 07:38:00 No wonder we so gave them a hiding along with their German and Hungarian mates. Dumb as dirt. prefect (6291)
