I trialled hulu and even playing something old (like buffy the vampire slayer series) the navigation wasn't all that easy, and the ads, too many. Netflix it just plays. But hulu is generally quicker to get content, whereas netflix wants for the dvd release of a tv show. Netflix is great though when you just want to go and watch something random. It does get annoying though, I was watching the inbetweeners (uk series) it had series 1 and 2 but not 3, even though it was on a few years back. Bit inconsistent sometimes. I use both on an Apple TV (they're native) - paid for through itunes - which is hooked to a us capable credit card. I use unblockus for access to us and uk sites. |

2012-10-20 18:37:00 | You also have to set up a US PSN account. Loads of instructions on how to do it online. I also use Unblock us, great service, never had any issues and cheap!

2012-10-20 19:52:00 | If you want a vpn for doing double duty for protecting your anonymity, then unblockus is not for you as it's not a vpn. But the big adavantage of it is, you can easily set it up for your whole network, and unlike a vpn you don't have to switch from us to uk servers to switch from netflix to bbc iplayer. It just does it for you. Hey if you do use unblock us, I wouldn't mind if you use this link to join www.unblock-us.com

2012-10-20 20:24:00 | How do you sign up to netflix with a nz credit card? I tried and it didn't like it, I was told to put a US zip code but that didn't work either. | sam m (517) | |
2012-10-20 20:39:00 | VPN is superfreevpn.com. I set it up using the instructions which were really easy and it uses encryption. I haven't tried signing up for free trial of Netflix yet, so don't know how it works with my c/card. Will look into setting up a US Psn account too. Thanks people, will keep you posted. LL :-)

2012-10-20 21:00:00 | I thougth an NZ credit card was ok.. you are running through a proxy already? I actually use my us itunes account to pay for netflix. But you can use a travel card - I know the Air new zealand onesmart card works (I'm sure there's still a free joining code at the moment).

2012-10-21 05:17:00 | My kiwibank mastercard worked ok, I used a US post code and I now have the free trial for 1 month. A bit weird that I have to go back into superfreevpn.com to get a new pass code all the time though Also the Netflix app for Android sux big time. LL
