1309073 2012-10-27 09:33:00 Email, web browsing, calendar, and occasionally texting or phone calls. inphinity (7274)
1309074 2012-10-28 00:54:00 Phone used when out and about.Text when something forgotten.

Thousands of texts used by some is incomprehensible to me.

1309075 2012-10-28 01:09:00 Status symbol, lol. Not really, use it for photos, texts, phone and email.

Photos are much better than the Canon PowerShot A590IS whose batteries are always go flat too quick.

Lurking.

1309076 2012-10-28 02:00:00 I use my cellphone very little. I only use it as for emergencies like breakdowns for instance. I have experimented with using it for surfing the web but it is too expensive. I occasionally send texts.

My cellphone is an emergency communication device.

1309077 2012-10-28 03:53:00 I have experimented with using it for surfing .

A few years ago phones were getting smaller, now they are getting much bigger so in the next couple of years you might indeed be able to use your phone to go surfing, not sure how it will react to salt water though

1309078 2012-10-28 08:18:00 Interesting and thanks for the replies. Understandably a fair number of members use mobile internet given this is a tech forum. I'm pondering whether to get a cheap smart phone. I don't actually need one but the ability to google stuff or check a map even a few times a week would be useful.

On the other hand I'm in the market for a phone because I crushed mine on some gravel (it was in my pocket) when replacing a car fog light. Still works but the screen is cracked and I totally misread a text recently resulting in some annoyance for all.

1309079 2012-10-28 08:36:00 95% for txt and voice call. The screen is too small for me.

Yep, all that scrolling & zooming does my head in. Only check email on mine when connected to home wifi, ain't paying through the nose for mobile data.

1309081 2012-10-28 08:56:00 Prior to getting my new phone, it was the occasional text, very, VERY rare call (of like, 2 minutes or less) and the occasional blurry picture.
I barely touched the games on it, it was just blah trying.

The new galaxy mini, however. Already taken a lot of photos, it's gonna get loaded with my music soon (I fit into a 2gb DSE mp3 player so I'll be fine lol), installed a couple games, etc.
I won't fiddle with mobile data though, since it'll be more for the smartphone capabilities than the mobile capabilities.

I might text a bit more though since 2D have cheaper texts than vodafart, and I now have a 2d sim with the new phone.
