1333923 2013-03-24 23:16:00 Yeah just extend your desktop to the 3rd monitor, and set it up so that the bottom-left hand corner of the 3rd screen is in line with the top-right of your 2nd screen. This would alleviate issues with you accidentally moving a window onto it.

Finally, in the nVidia control panel you can force an app such as VLC to start up by default on the 3rd screen. Then, use VLC for playing back your media, and use WMP or whatever for playing the odd video if you get emailed something, or whatever

Finally, Windows Key + Arrows for moving a window around real quickly.

1333924 2013-03-24 23:18:00 Is it enough to turn off the other two monitors?
Will that make the TV primary?

Also how are they plugged in exactly to the 680?
I assume both monitors in the DVI's and the TV in the HDMI?I suspect turning the monitors off wouldn't change anything. Yes, the monitors on DVI and TV on HDMI (so you get the sound through the HDMI as well of course). Clients system actually runs into an amp which then runs to tv, but I did have it going straight to the tv to begin with to make sure we had output etc.

1333925 2013-03-24 23:23:00 My 7.1 system faces my desk so useless with the TV.
Will just use the TV speakers I guess.

Next question.
Any suggestions for a TV that would work well with this setup?
Be nice if it had USB input also just in case

I don't need any actual TV channels to work on it, I never watch those.

But I also use the media software on the other two monitors so if I forget to move it back then its a pain in the ass.

Too much hassle, I want this to be a bit more seamless than that.

Okay, how about cloning the 2nd panel to the TV and using the 2nd to extent the desktop of the first.....so you can use 2 screens for desktop and clone the 2nd screen to the TV?

1333927 2013-03-24 23:44:00 Just got a 50" plasma Desade, Full HD via HDMI, $850!...oh I use the media player it has built in to view the movie on the network, but it would work well enough as 3rd Screen SolMiester (139)
1333928 2013-03-24 23:49:00 I've heard that the new (relatively speaking) LED LCD's are the best now, not that I know anything about TV's really. DeSade (984)
1333929 2013-03-25 00:26:00 Plasma vs LCD is a preference thing, IMO LCD works better for text and PC type things and plasma is better for movies but both are great.

I'd have suggested cloning one and extending like Sol suggested but I'm not sure you can actually do both? I've never had a 3rd screen connected though so maybe you can. How far to the TV? there's a limit to how far you can easily send an HDMI signal without repeaters or special cables. Otherwise you can get HDMI switches and splitters which could be the easiest way given that you can't see the screen from the PC

1333930 2013-03-25 00:50:00 TV will back up against the monitors and be higher up
so maybe 30cm away.

I got a spare monitor I might hook it up and play with configs see if I can get it working.

1333931 2013-03-25 01:21:00 I have 3 monitors at work, all set as extended...will try the clone/extended, though doesnt look promising, so the next option would be a simple signal splitter for the 2nd and 3rd monitor with the 2nd being an extended desktop of first...I have seen this done before, although you might need a hardware box to split the signal...

Okay, Windows 7 is pretty clever, without using 3rd party software, W7 will allow you if you have panels ...............1 / 2 /3........to extend 1 to 2 for dual and you can mirror/clone the 2 to the third...Cool

Here is example...
