2013-03-22 01:58:00 | Thanks Wainui but no icon in sys tray. Looked in customise to make sure it was not hiding but nothing there. Looks exactly what I need though. | Colpol (444) | |

2013-03-22 02:28:00 | OK those pic's were from a W7 PC ( office computer) I'm guessing you have Windows 8. Do you use a Windows live account to sign in, or is it like mine ( i'm on now), straight into the Local account ? If you use a live ID to sign in try this. Go to the start screen ( tiles) type in Sync - on the right click settings, then sync your settings - theres a whole heap of options, BUT I cant try them as I don't use a Live ID to sign in on this PC, and you need one active to allow them to operate - mine are all greyed out :( The other option I spose is to uninstall Skydrive - that'll stop it from running :) you can always reinstall it again later if you want. On W8 on the Tiled start, then simply type in Skydrive - it will show on the result, right click- uninstall. "If" you have some sort of classic Shell or other way disabling the start screen on W8 then cant help sorry - I don't cheat - I learn the system, and its a lot faster once you have than W7. ;)

2013-03-22 02:29:00 | OK went looking for Skydrive in the start menu and found it there. Started it and it asked me to sign up so I assume Outlook is looking for it but cant find it so is producing "syncing issues". Would maybe disappear if I signed up(Would probably also appear in Sys Tray too) but would prefer to just stop Outlook hunting for it if possible. | Colpol (444) | |
2013-03-22 02:36:00 | OK found it I think may also apply to outlook -- Have a look at www.guidingtech.com I don't use Skydrive on this PC so its not active or showing, which also has Office 2013. Otherwise in outlook, click file/Options and have a look through there should be somewhere to disable it, as I said I don't use it so its not showing on this PC.

2013-03-22 03:28:00 | Ok Looked at and tried the first suggestion. Second option statement different Instruction says Take tick from "Always show "sign in to Skydrive" location during save. My program says -Show additional places for saving, even if sign in may be required. So i Took the tick out of there. Second Suggestion. My program is different to that shown and does not have the option to remove account.

2013-03-22 07:42:00 | Just been having a bit of a play about with Office 2013 & Skydrive. What I've discovered. It appears that office 2013 installs Skydrive Pro - which is different to Skydrive. In my Windows 8 when you open the Skydrive icon it goes directly to the Skydrive site, with no options to select what folders etc like I posted before. If you look in your user name folder, there should be a separate folder called Skydrive, mine didn't have it and it wasn't in the customize notifications either (W7 did). So what I did was uninstall Skydrive from W8 as described before - typed in skydrive, right click uninstall. Then downloaded skydrive again apps.live.com This time after it installed, the options in the Notification Try were there as shown before & the skydrive folder was now in my username folder as well as windows explorer menus. The start menu app still took directly to skydrive log in. Its almost as if when Office installs it, it doesn't do it fully. Just a suggestion, to try what I did above, this may enable you to actually disable Skydrive if you want or at least disable certain options :2cents: I do use Skydrive to auto sync several work files that change daily, and it does a very good job as long as those files are in the skydrive folder.

2013-03-22 10:25:00 | Just adding to the above -- I forgot to mention I had to put the App Icon back to get the direct link on the start screen by going to the App store and reinstalling that. What I did try was on another W8 PC a short while back, leave the Start Screen app alone, but installed Skydrive after downloading as described above. This then put it with the options and folder in the notification Tray - No Office on that PC though.
