I like watching “Tomorrow Today” a half hour science program screened in Auckland Triangle TV 7:30 wednesday nights, but not this coming wednesday 31st October.

Tomorrow Today is made by DW TV in Germany, they talked about water treatment plants can not remove a grow list of chemicals from waste water, such things as pesticides and antibiotics, they said some of these chemicals where banded about 20 years ago and their residue is still turning up in the water. To try and prevent more chemicals been added to this growing list in years to come they have to modify drugs to be bio-degradable. As I said this problem is in Europe, no doubt New Zealand and Australia might also have a growing list as well. It sure makes you think, while we still need to keep drinking water so our urine is just off clear color, if it has any yellowness in it (like first thing in the morning) we are not drinking enough water (a bit hard to drink water while you should be asleep in bed), but now it appears if we overdose on water it might be just as dangerous for our health due to that growing list, whatever I will not reduce my two or three litres of water I drink a day.

1309089 2012-10-27 07:24:00 Indeed it is interesting. These days in mess halls and similar communal feeding areas scraps no longer go to pigs, although the pig pins are still used the refuse food is sent to landfill due to the fact that the hormones and chemicals in food are getting reinstated into the pig meant which is potentially harmful.

These days I feel like I should trust food less and less. Doesn't stop me eating it though :p

1309093 2012-10-27 08:42:00 2 or 3 litres a day? getting up there, your pipes must be shite and briny. Whenu (9358)
1309094 2012-10-27 08:56:00 I'd sooner drink treated water than bottled. The plasticizers used to extrude that bottle can be carcinogenic and feminizing.

Those that only strut around with bottled water are probably doing themselves more harm than good, and wasting their money in the process.

1309095 2012-10-27 09:39:00 I, too, watch Tomorrow Today and find it most interesting. I was very surprised hearing that story. Starts you wondering just how pure our water is. Roscoe (6288)
1309096 2012-10-27 18:10:00 Unlike those unfortunate europeans, our water supply is based on free-range water. Theirs is largely sourced from artesian water that has been cruelly confined in subterranean aquifers away from daylight or exercise for years. It is yet more evidence that the trickle-down theory is a load of ****. ;) R2x1 (4628)

Someone had to do it.... ("treaded water", "wednesday", "grow list", "banded", "try and prevent", "been added", "color" and too much information in too few sentences)
