| 134164 | 2003-04-07 10:45:00 | This morning, one of my PC's was on and running, with NAV2003 in the background like it normally is. Then we had a brief power cut (im talking about 5 minutes or less), and then we turned the computer back on. NAV2003 is not there anymore. Clicking on it through the Start menu starts up a search for the file. Result? The file/programme cannot be found. What happened here? We've had power cuts before and NAV's still there every time we've turned the computer back on. It wasnt being used at the time of the power cut this morning (i.e. for a virus check or whatever)... All other programs are running fine and am using WinXP Pro. Thanks, caffy |

| 134165 | 2003-04-07 11:41:00 | Try looking in my computer->c:->progam files and look for folder either Nortons or NAV and see if the progam files are still there. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 134166 | 2003-04-07 11:44:00 | But NAV would still have been active, and its likely it was damaged if it was half-way thru an operation. Reinstall NAV would be the first thing to try. I have actually seen something similar to this with NAV, it was damaged and wouldnt let the PC boot. Reinstallation fixed it. However this kept happening every few days for no apparent reason, and since it was a business, they chose to install a paid version of AVG. Not one problem since. NAV may be more sensitive (as in holding key files open) than some other programs? |
