| 134112 | 2003-04-07 07:23:00 | i'm trying to use partition magic 7 to merge some partitions. it started merging, but about halfway through it said that there were cross linked files, and stopped. when i restarted, my H and I drives were no longer showing up in explorer. partition magic shows the two as being merged, and when i try convert the 'H and I' drives into logical partitions, it once again says there are cross linked files. btw the two partitions were NTFS. | tango (2697) | ||

Crosslinked files I think are files that point at each other and therefore go round in circles (usually OK to delete unless you know which program they are associated with). Check on your Partition magic disk too, seem to recall there is a facilty on there to scandisk. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 134114 | 2003-04-07 09:38:00 | hey phoenix. i can't scan the disk, because windows isn't showing it. i tried using an old win 95 bootdisk, and tried running scandisk.exe, but of course right before i tried merging them i converted the two to NTFS :P partition magic is still showing the drive, it still has all the data on it, and when i check for errors it still detects the same errors. is there a way of fixing it? btw in the process of joining my drives, i lost one :S had lots of the stuff i got at the lan as well :P |

| 134116 | 2003-04-07 12:17:00 | I once had a similar problem but with PQmagic 5 and Fat32. I used the switch /IPE which enabled pqmagic to ignore it and finish the job. e.g. pqmagic /IPE The space befor the / is important. Worth a try:) |
