| 134361 | 2003-04-08 08:52:00 | This is what I currently have to do to get out of Win2K (Which doesnt have my TV-Tuner Drivers) into Win98, which does have the drivers, but I only am using it for that TV-Tuning: Reboot out of Win2K Enter the BIOS Change it to use PCI adapters as the primary display Enter Win98 Change the speaker to use my OnBoard coz Win98 wont accept my downloaded drivers Use the TV - Then reverse it all for Win2K! Now, my GeFroce 4 MX 440 SE-T is the AGP card.. and at the moment I havent re-installed the drivers (Ive got them downloaded fine though). I had to format and re-install the Win98 partition... so thats why Im speaking like Ive got the drivers installed etc. Now, Two monitors... I want to be able to use them both, only I get the TV-Capture software playing up when I have multiple monitors enabled, and the screen does wierd Overlay things.. like move down the start menu, and half the stuff will stay high-lighted! So..... What do I do here? Im wanting to be able to run 2 monitors in Win98, and I'd really like to be able to use the AGP card as primary... for both OS's... and I'd like some DRIVER ONLY downlaod for my SB!Live sound-card for Win98, as I prefer to use it in Win2K. I'd also like my TV software to work withmultiple-monitors,but Im assuming that's a configuration error! Any leads? Thanks Chilling_Silence |

First thing you want to do is download the NVIDIA TwinView application which is specially designed to handle multiple monitors and the like. Having to swap back to windows 98 for you card to work shouldn't be necessary. There should be drivers for windows 2000 out there somewhere. From memory you should be able to use an XP driver. Try the Google groups for a solution, they have helped me many times - or post the cards info on here, maybe some kind person will do it for you. |

Yeah, the ony cards that arent Multi-Monitor Compatible are Diamond series PCI cards, as of writing, Win98 SE says that EVERY other PCi card is, and EVERY AGP card is! :D > > First thing you want to do is download the NVIDIA > TwinView application which is specially designed to > handle multiple monitors and the like . Okay, Ive only got the drivers . Thanks, I'll look into that :-) > > Having to swap back to windows 98 for you card to > work shouldn't be necessary . My thoughts too! > There should be drivers > for windows 2000 out there somewhere . From memory > you should be able to use an XP driver . | 134365 | 2003-04-09 03:31:00 | Alrighty - Heres a wee update, Im back to square one: Ive installed the Detonators and all.. I rebooted - with AGP as my Primary adapater, and my TV-Tuner throws a wobbly and says "Get a Multi-Monitor compatible driver from the Hardware Vendor" Reboot with PCI (Which my TV-Tuner is) as the primary display adapter (Changed in the BIOS) and I can get multiple monitors with the aforementioned hiccups. I loaded up the TV software and opened up my display properties at the same time. As soon as I enabled the second monitor, the TV-Software crashed - just came up with two errors and died - wont re-open until Ive disabled the second monitor and rebooted. Soo... Do I need: An update PCI display driver? Updated TV-Tuning software (I know of no other free stuff except that which came with it) Or something else??? BTW - I cant get sound from the TV Tuner? Anybody know why? For now Ive got an RCA > 3.5mm Stereo adapter going into the Line In port on my soundcard (Onboard in Win98) for playing my Nintendo 64, but I have TV without sound :( Thanks guys Cheers Chilling_Silence |
