134581 2003-04-10 10:27:00 so if you had a popup block ( like I do ) I never saw the "fake news" window! had to use a mates pc to see it... I just trusted seeing the c-net logo... anyway I've said I fell for it... but doesn't this say something for fake news though??

134582 2003-04-10 10:34:00 Ah - Ive just finished downloading Phoenix - Ive been without it for a week - since a format, and you forget how many popups and popunders the web can hold!

The best browser I nominate - But that can be a thread for another day!

*BTW- goto google.co.nz and enter in 'Download Phoenix Nightly', click on 'Im Feeling Lucky' and download the Win32 one for Windows :-)*

134584 2003-04-11 01:08:00 Chilling - how do you stop your little demonstration? Nomad1 (3546)
134585 2003-04-11 01:26:00 LOL - Im sure I said dont click it.. ;-)

NM thou. If youre an XP user, right-click on the taskbar and choose properties.

Make sure its set to group common tasks or related groups or something (Im on a 2K machine right now so I dont have exact wording..). Then just right-click on the grouped IE Icons and choose close all!

Otherwise, save all your work and log off/restart :-)

Please note that although some AV programs are set off by it, its not a virus, but rather some go off because of the suspicious activity caused by it...

I actually thought it was quite funny when it got sent to me :D

Cheers

Mmmm.. Very - try feetman.com instead...

Make sure you gather all your friends and family around you before you go there, it makes it all the more fun for them :D

Just be prepared to log off your PC :p

134587 2003-04-11 01:45:00 Crikey Chilling! :O

I couldn't help myself either and I clicked on your URL. :D

It is interesting to note that in Opera that page behaves differently. You can simply close it by right-clicking on the tab and selecting "close page", however in Phoenix (freshly downloaded) you get a very different result and you have to use Task Manager to close Phoenix to stop it.

Must be the difference between using a tabbed view and a window view.

I need a lie down after that.

Jen :-)
