134857 2003-04-10 09:20:00 I just got a new graphics card because my old one wasn't supported too much (hardly at all). My new one is an G-force 4 MX440-SE and my old one was an SiS 961. Windows recognises the card, but wont use it. I tried disableing it but it came up with some screen where it said "if you can read this message your card is fine" thats not exactly it, but its close enough. I cant get any further than that, when I tried to restart windows using the new card it just tries to go back to the old SiS. 404error (3327)
134858 2003-04-10 09:24:00 Did you "uninstall" the old card before you changed? If not the drivers will be really confused. godfather (25)
134859 2003-04-10 09:24:00 Okay..

What OS are you running?
Are you trying to run Multiple monitors?

Download the latest Detonators for you GF4 MX card for a starters if you havent already done so.

Then, I would make sure in your BIOS that the AGP card is set to default (Assuming your old SiS card is PCI that is..)

But a little more info, What OS, and is the SiS card still in the PC? Are you wanting to run 2 monitors?

Hope this helps

Cheers

134860 2003-04-10 09:24:00 is your sis an integrated chipset?

uninstall it from device manager, you might need to show hidden devices to find it, if you can see it in the device manager, use add/remove hardware from the control panel, again using show hidden devices

then install the latest detonators from www.nvidia.com and you should be away laughing...

also make sure you have an AGP GART driver installed

134861 2003-04-10 10:07:00 Agreed. Uninstall card. Enable standard windows VGA drivers after reboot then install your new cards drivers or the 4in1 as mentioned will probably need to reboot again to let it stick good and proper ;)
