| 135013 | 2003-04-11 05:13:00 | Time for a clean out and a fresh start. I have a win 98 boot floppy and the Win 98SE CD which came with the computer, but no reg key. The OEM asserts that the reg key was with the disk. I assert that I never ever had it - remiss of me not to have checked at the time. The OEM says that he cannot help, but suggests that I check for the key in the registry. Although I seem to remember a similar exercise once before in Win 95, I've looked in he obvious places but can't see it. Can anyone suggest where in the registry this information might be. Many thanks... |

Does 98SE use the funny non-numeric 25 character thing whichj is [b]not[p/b] the registration number? If it contains the "OEM" part, I think you mustn't enter that ... It's like that in W95, anyway. |
