As for people knocking it - I think that Greg was simply trying to inform those who might have wanted to take action in relation to his last thread - and not convincing other people to ditch Xtra, who are by far the largest ISP in New Zealand. When I called Greg last week, he did not at all seem like the kind of person to want to start a flame war - not even on a bad day.. Now, who has actually been to Ihug, Clear.Net, Paradise, and other ISP's to see which others may have similar T&C's to Xtra's that simply cover their butts in case of a law suit? |

If you don't like where you spend your money now then you can vote with your wallet and try another ISP, Car dealer, White goods supplier or computer supplier. You can even buy another brand of Cat/Dog food if you don't think your Cat/Dog food is doing much for your Cat/Dog. We live in a democracy here ( so far ). I have the right to vote for whomever. I have the right to voice my opinion as does GregS. I don't think I have the right to TROLL.... (Look it up.) |

And yet I amazingly still manage to connect every time I want to, my connection never drops, I have no caps on time or bandwidth from them and whenever I ring up tech support (which is rarely) I get reasonable and logical advice... If you're happy with Xtra, dont leave.. I thinkGreg was just trying to show others what he'd found, just in case they too wanted to leave because of it... As for helpdesk - Ihug have been of no help to me whenever I call and they end up telling me to format (on 3 different Internet Saga's... last was about 6 months ago... might have improved, but they ended up says "Sorry, cant help anymore, thats the end of our knowledge base, so format your PC and start afresh". not good :()! |
