135118 2003-04-12 03:08:00 Don't be snarky Thomas.

Those who manage this site have been very effective at excluding people who overstep the mark, and they know all the tricks.

There are no proxy consciences here either. Everybody should have their own and know the difference between what's acceptable on this Forum and what is not. There are plenty of other sites to infest if warez, hacks, pirating and general mayhem are your preferred modus operandi.

And I am not for one moment suggesting they are (your preference) Thomas, but if we users don't keep it clean and honest we have only ourselves to blame if PF1 develops a reputation that drives good people away.

Cheers

How many have they banned? I know of one person who was banned by Bruce who kept sneaking back in till he was allowed to return legit. Probably only cause everyone knew he was posting and Bruce didn't want to get egg on his face (after saying to everyone that he was banned for life)

135125 2003-04-12 07:57:00 An interesting theory Thomas, I see your reasoning and can appreciate your perspective, but I'm not sure I agree with your political analogies .

I'm apolitical actually, but that doesn't mean I'm a fence sitter either . Doing nothing is not an option for me . We should not abrogate our collective responsibilty to ensure that the "character" of PF1 is maintained as a friendly, credible and honest source of advice, and when we sign on, we do so because we like what we have seen here . The conspicuous absence of flame wars suggests that most PF1'ers like it this way too .

If we can collectively rally round to help others, we are at worst centrist, which doesn't sound like ACT at all . Even if someone arrives out of pure self-interest because they are in desperate need of help, it usually doesn't take long before they try to help others . It's kinda contagious really . :D

So, IMHO there's no conflict here Thomas, just different standards .

Cheers

Yes, and it is good to see that you have grown up a lot since then and no longer annoy the hell out of people on the forum. :-)
