135028 2003-04-11 08:05:00 Hi ojos

Since you only got your PC with XP on it last week, it should have come with SP1 included. You can check this by going Start > Control Panel > System or by pushing the WinKey (has Windows Flag on it) + Pause/break key simultaneously. You will see listed your OS plus any Service Packs.

What is this SP2?

Microsoft recommends that you install SP1. It fixes a lot of bugs & it has some new features in it

You can get more information here: www.microsoft.com

At the moment there is no such thing as a Win XP SP 2.
But a 2nd SP is going too come out soon.

Hope this helps

if you have any more questions just ask. :)

135031 2003-04-15 08:33:00 thanks for your reply. I have been told there are some problems arise when loading sp1. However I checked on the machien and it says it's already included.

I got a disk last week with office sp2 on it. This will not be the same as windows sp2, I think.

cheers,

I am not too sure about, But I thank I am right ;)
But I do not think that any windows SP "Phone home" it will be a progume on your pc which will be "Phoning home" & if it is a win SP that is "Phoning home” then some one has put some spy awaye in it.
