135921 2003-04-15 05:25:00 A friend of mine wants to switch ISPs because he does not want to pay the amount he is paying now (won't mention any names here). What ISPs have people here used, and how much do they cost for a flat rate plan? He wants the cheapest deal possible, for a flat rate monthly plan.

What are your opinions on the companies, regarding service, stability, and reliability?

Thanks in advance.

135922 2003-04-15 05:40:00 Have a look here:

LIGHT USERS (National ISPs $20 or less)

www.netguide.co.nz

[B]Moderate to Heavy Users (National ISPs)

www.netguide.co.nz

Regional ISPs (ISPs for different Regions)

Hope this helps

135923 2003-04-15 05:42:00 Don't let price be your only motivator; a while back I switched to an ISP to get DSL (Clear couldn't provide) and for the past few weeks I have had an unusable internet connection at home (60 bytes/sec int'l), no refund available. These guys appear to be one of the few that supply flatrate internet and are definitely amongst the cheapest, but rest assured, if you want cheap, you get cheap. TerryW (2183)

135925 2003-04-15 08:18:00 I am with Snap and I have found them excellent. It costs $20 per month for unlimited internet access. I have never had any problem getting connected to the net. summertime (2568)
135926 2003-04-15 09:13:00 I've pointed him to those Netguide sites, but I don't know how he's getting on.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
