You can buy one yourself (try http://www.pricespy.co.nz) and install it on your own (Not too hard, and we're here should you go wrong or want assistance). Otherwise, you can buy one and take it into a repair shop with your PC and they can install it.. else get a repairs shop to buy you one too, only they'd charge more (much.. Much more) than what you can likely get one of Pricespy for! hope this helps Cheers Chilling_Silence |

| 135962 | 2003-04-15 08:48:00 | Hello, Your statistics seem a little out , but I'll assume that you have a hp Pavillion desktop computer, with 64mb Ram with a 15gb Harddrive, with Millineuem installed, and a 1000mhz Cpu . Firstly I would look at increasing your Ram, I would suggest you increase to at least 128mb Ram, as Milliniem seems to prefer memory around that size . There are different types of memory, so before you buy any, it would pay to do a check on the HP web site, for the statistics of your computer . Most cd writers come with instructions on how to install, however, make sure that it will fit your computer, as some have different fittings than others . If you are not sure about fitting, then perhaps it would better to find someone who can do it for you . Another thing to consider, is if you intend replacing your current CD-Rom with a writer, take care because in some cases, if you have to use your recovery disc, you may find that the writer will have to be removed and the old cd-rom reinstalled before you can do a recovery . it is probaby best these days to buy a fairly quick cd-Writer, but dont expect to get full speeds, as Burning speed for a CD is dictated by your computers resouces . Good luck, Robby |
