135684 2003-04-14 09:24:00 I use Mitsubishi discs from Dick Smith and find them OK for my purposes.
But I believe Imation discs are more popular. Are they actually better? What do other people think?

135685 2003-04-14 10:07:00 Transonic from The Warewhare (Warehouse) everytime - they rarely crap out; far more reliable than other "name" brands IMO... falvrez (390)
135686 2003-04-14 10:15:00 Melody, SKC, Imation, Kodak, Sony, Penmax, Samsung, Transonic, Mitsubishi... they're all the same to me. All my problems have been write errors caused by a certain HP cd writer. Stupid crappy HP... agent (30)
135687 2003-04-14 11:09:00 I second Transonic from The Warehouse,Ive been thru a hundred or so and only had 1 that wasnt up to snuff.

Could be that its because SKF make ball bearings, and you should have bought SKC, as they make CD-R?

[pre] must try formatting a wheel bearing one day [pre]

I have had no problems with any brand. There was an item in a magazine recently that was quite revealing. Only a handful of actual CD-R makers, they are re-branded by the various companies.

Presently use TDK, but only for the slimline cases, where they protect the CD better in transit.
Also buy spindles of SKC, when a case is not required.

All Transonic have been fine as well, just don't like the look of the label side.

135690 2003-04-14 12:31:00 Transonic from the Warey.
$16.99 for 20
Only a couple of coasters from literally hundreds of CDs & they were probably my fault.

135691 2003-04-14 12:38:00 The Harvey Norman ones are great. They are cheap (40-50c each) and I've never had any errors.

The only brand I've had trouble with is Melody. About half of them would have one or more unreadable files, and when using them in a highspeed (24x) burner the reflective layer would sometimes start to come off.

My comment still stands, wether you think your special for spotting a spelling mistake or not.
