136148 2003-04-16 02:14:00 just out of interest i looked up how much time i had been using when i realised i have charged for extra time, and as i have a flat rate i couldnt understand it .
so i rang xtra help line .

and i was told that this extra usage will be charged to my account as some one not at my house is logged online as me and using my access and time, but as i have not paid for a second username i will get charged for this .

and the man says if i know for certain that it is nota family member with priviliges to use this username and know the password then i have someone illegally useing my access and he said change my password immedietly as this is not good .

and if i wanted to i could get them to find out who or where this cracker? was and take them to court for this money to pay for the bill . but i would have to pay a search fee . $ 200 . 00
and then he said that i would have to pay that if they found it to have come from my house .
but in the next breath he says my computer cannot loggin twice its not possible . . . . . is there any other way this could have happened from here or is it likely someone hacking? or actuaaly cracking?

this is scary as he said i could end up with a huge bill $$$ thousands if i cant stop it .

does this all sound as clear as mud?

please note i have changed my password .

136149 2003-04-16 02:27:00 They charge $200 for a check? Greedy lot.

I don't think one computer on one line can login twice as the same user.

136150 2003-04-16 02:38:00 the person on the help desk says it is not possible to login twice on my computer so it had to come from somewhere else.

and i asked him about alias's and he said they cant log on as something they arnt.

the charge will be made if they find it was me or my computer that logged on twice but if someone else did then then get fined! lol they got a hope for someone else to pay.

136151 2003-04-16 02:55:00 have you ever used your acc on another pc?? someone may have dug out your password and is useing your acc. if in doubt change your password and make sure you have no trojens in your pc. a lot of other isp's don't allow dual logins. mayby xtra can set it up so it will only accept one login at a time ?? tweak'e (174)

Well theres your problem right there...If your sister was clued up enough she would be have been using your internet dial in. :)

You say you changed the password? Did you do this directly after logging in at your sisters PC?? Or wait a week or two. Do you mean change the password in the Dialup Networking? Or change the ISP password via the internet?

I wouldn't be surprised if she gained your password through a keylogger programme on her computer. I seriously doubt it is a trojan. No-one has anything to gain by stealing Dial up passwords, they are more likely to go for ADSL passwords... Just a thought... :)
