136107 2003-04-16 00:20:00 go into the bios and disable the onboard sound. tweak'e (174)
136108 2003-04-16 00:20:00 I suspect you would have to disable it from the BIOS. I used to have OB Sound enabled, but just set my soundcard to default, and Windows just worked anyway. somebody (208)

136110 2003-04-16 00:32:00 I have the standard OnBoard AC '97 that came with my mobo (Go figure - its onboard lol), and I also bought myself a 5.1 Channel SB!Live.

I found the easiest way to configure Linux to use the SB!Live was have the AC '97 disabled in the BIOS, do a couple of reboots to get it set up and as default and re-enable it, but under doze neither need disabling, be it in the BIOS or whatever, Just open the Multimedia and Sound Properties in the Control Panel and you can use both.. Like the OB for Recording and the Sound Card for Playback :-)

Hope this helps

Cheers

136112 2003-04-16 09:58:00 ..You shouldnt have to go into the BIOS - If Doze doesnt pick it up (And it should) Just tell it to Add New Hardware from in the control Panel and specify which soundcard you want used as primary in the Sounds and Multimedia page :-) Chilling_Silence (9)
