136622 2003-04-18 03:08:00 Would I be able to use Office 2000 under XP?

When I create a word document with Word XP at home, I can't open it under Word 2000 at school.

Do I really have to go to school to do everything or can I use Word 2000 under XP and then just use a floppy?

Yes

At school save your word doc as an older word version.
To do that under the title” save as type”, use the drop down box & select "word 6.0/95 (*.doc) then word 2000 can open that file.

At home just save it as you would normal & word XP can open word 2000

136624 2003-04-18 03:51:00 I thought Word was backward compatible without having to save it as a older version of Word. I mean, I have the SR1 ver of Word 2000 and have no probs of going from one (SR1 2000) to the other (XP).

I know Publisher has to saved to an older version of Publisher.
