136891 2003-04-19 06:14:00 A (long) while ago I spotted on these forums someone who said that they had a utility/they knew how to create a CD which would install WindowsXP with SP1 already on. Does anybody know how to add SP1 onto the XP install CD (by burning a new one) so that I dont have to install both seperately? Stormwarden (388)
136892 2003-04-19 06:22:00 Do a search of Tweak'es news posts from several months ago for (I think) "slip streaming" SP1

136893 2003-04-19 06:35:00 Yea its called slip streaming. Look on google, there will be a few forums on the topic. Don't do if you have the corp version of Xp, the cd key won't work.

I don't know how long until they release SP2 or whatever, but it might pay to wait until then to make the cd, but if you can't wait...

136894 2003-04-19 06:39:00 Why not take the easy option and simply do a clean install, then install SP1 first thing after? Nothing wrong with that... agent (30)
136895 2003-04-19 06:42:00 Try one of these two PressF1 threads about Slipstreaming:

136896 2003-04-19 06:49:00 Thanks, I've found the threads and taken a look at the Guide that Tweak'e linked to.

I think I might wait until SP2 comes out, then I can have a completely up-to-date CD. I might try adding the latest Nforce2 and Detonator drivers onto the CD as well and see how that works too. :)

136897 2003-04-19 08:04:00 The best utility i have used to slipstream with is the flexbeta slipstreamer.
You can use this to not only slipstream SP1 into Windows XP but you can also slipstream SP1/SP2 into Office XP.

You can find it here

or direct download

Sorry PoWa but this statement is incorrect. I have successfully achieved this on a corp version.

136900 2003-04-19 16:04:00 Depends on what corp key you are using I guess. Mine would work cos its legit, but they did bann a quite a few keys with the SP1 release.

The illegal cd keys don't get banned if you install Xp and then sp1, but if you slipstream the sp1, then the banned keys don't work. have a hunt around the pirate networks, I'm sure you'll find I'm right. One person tested over 130 keys on a slipstreamed copy of xp and they didn't work.

Just for all the pirates out there, thats all :P Believe me theres a lot of em lol
