136863 2003-04-19 04:10:00 CD writing with Nero and Easy CD creator fails both for data and audio recording when previously worked fine. CD reads OK however. Problem may have started when installing a second hard drive (80 GB). CD R-W is master on secondardary IDE channel. Hard drives on primary IDE channel.
Tried reinstalling drivers, CD drive, and software.

136864 2003-04-25 06:54:00 Try defragging the hdd/s. If hdd's get fragmented they will create errors when burning cd's. Do this in safe mode.

and scanning ya hdd's for errors.

Assumably burning CDs may take more power than reading.

You have listed several devices.

For testing purposes you may wish to try removing some devices to a previous state to see if it functions a lower power requirement level.

or perhaps test the load to the system [may require certain equipment].

this is not the only possible solution. Yes fragmentation may cause errors, typically buffer underrun although it may vary.

Do you have an *exact* error message?
