| 137249 | 2003-04-20 08:09:00 | Hi everyone, I want to do a system cleanout and get rid of unwanted programs etc. Does anyone know of a program that will scan my harddrive and list all my programs that it will delete for me when I place a tick beside it. I did hear of one a while ago, but can't remember what it was called |

Start jv16 up and go registry tool - tools - registry cleaner and on the screen that pops up untick "show ignored entries" and continue. After it has done it's thing, go select - all at top and then hit the delete button. This cleans the registry safely of all extraneous entries left behind. The other alternative is use Nortons System Works Windoctor which does a good clean up. | Pheonix (280) | ||

It is shareware but has a 30-day trial and does more than uninstall your programs for you. Be careful about uninstalling a whole heap of programs one after the other - it is best to uninstall one at a time, reboot and check whether your computer is running properly afterwards. If you don't and something goes wrong it will be difficult to detect which uninstalled program caused the problem and thus be a pain to try and fix. |
