137459 2003-05-14 01:52:00 here is another screen shot (stuartw.orcon.net.nz)

Also another thing I meant to say is that some times when my computer freezes my screen goes all black & some with " - " flashing at the top right hand side.

137460 2003-05-14 06:58:00 Yea your drivers are ok.
I'm quickly running out of possible solutions. I have a couple more ideas but they involve testing the system.

I think you'd be best to reformat and go for a clean install.

137462 2003-05-14 09:34:00 Stu Just reading this item there seems to be a lot of "cross posts" and it gets pretty confusing exactley what is going on with you computer.

I would pick the hardware configuration you want to use, rerformate your HD and reinstall your OS of choice (obviously backup any data that is essentual). This would:

1. Simplify you problems, without a complicated history.
2. Get you the setup you want.

137463 2003-05-14 12:16:00 Hi Stu, I'm not sure if ME has this, but my XP machine has a Direct X diagnostic tool for testing directX problems, you can start this by typing " dxdiag " in the run comand, have a play in there, there are some tests that can be run to check operation, if you find any problems in there, update you directX here... www.microsoft.com Mattrix (527)

Yep, Win ME does has that typed of thing

If any one wants to know where it is:

It is under: Start >Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information, Then click on: tools > Direct X diagnostic tool

In a nutshell:

One in a while as I am doing something on my computer, it total locks up on me & the screen goes all funnily with lines in some places or my screen just goes totally black.
